Certification in the Matrix Process is defined by your ability to engage people using a ten-step process.

This ten-step process is free and widely available. You don't need to be certified to use the Matrix Process. However, for some, certification is necessary for their business.

Once you have mastered this ten-step process, you will be at ease facilitating essentially any group in any situation, even highly conflicted groups.

Imagine how it would feel to be able to walk into any work-group setting knowing that you can take control and facilitate the group to nail down their shared purposes and start working through their barriers.

You facilitate until the workgroup starts using the process without you, and that can happen in just one meeting.

Dr. Polk's Story:

I've worked with thousands of workgroups in dozens of settings. Until I got this PMC Process down, my results were good, sometimes great, but probably never fantastic.

Then I figured out how to do the PMCP, and suddenly every group I worked with "took off" with a fantastic buzz. They started tackling thorny issues right before my eyes. Even more, they soon relegated me to the sideline while they worked. 

It's hard for me to express to you how exciting and rewarding it is to experience a group "take off" right before your eyes.

You can gain this skill and start watching workgroups come together and synergize as you've never seen before.

[You may already have Matrix facilitator skills. In that case, please keep using those skills with as many workgroups as you can. Certification is not required to use the Matrix process.] 

However, certification may help you open doors to more Matrix facilitation opportunities, especially in the business/corporate world. Also, in many cultures certification is virtually the only way to position you as an expert.

In any case, certification makes for easier marketing.

Current Certification Procedures:

1. Complete the online course. You will get instant access as soon as your payment is complete.

• In the online course, you will learn the ten steps of the ProSocial Matrix Communication Process.
• The course is available to you 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
• Learning the ten steps is straightforward. You need to practice those ten steps until you are facile at engaging two or more people into the process.

2. In a word processor document, write eight emails to an imaginary audience that you are introducing to the PMCP via email. Then send that word document to the certification committee. (Instructions are in the online course.)

3. Be mentored through presenting a webinar. (We provide the webinar application software.) You will facilitate your audience through the ten steps of the PMCP. Then, you will add content directed at your target audience. For example, yoga, mindfulness, conflict resolution, and stress management are all great topics. You can add your own.

If fear of doing a webinar shows up in you, No Worries! We will help you through the process every step of the way.

Note: You may need to do more than one webinar to show competency in the process. No worries, we can do that.

4. Do at least two in-person PMCP events in your area. You can present to any size group of your choosing based on your target audience.

If you need help getting the word out about your PMCP events, we can give you pointers on that too. Combined, we have decades of experience in marketing to groups. We can't do a whole campaign for you, but we can give you some savvy tips.

5. When you are ready, schedule with the certification committee. You will describe your two in-person events. The committee will also have listened to your webinar recording(s) and read your eight emails.

6. If the committee determines that you have the skills to facilitate and engage two or more people in the PMCP, then you will be certified.

7. We will add your name to the Certified ProSocial Matrix Communication Process Facilitators list on the following web page:

You provide us with information to include on the page, including a link to your website, blog, etc. 

8. You get a certificate. You can choose to print the certificate.

If needed, we can modify the certification procedures to fit your situation.

A little background:

When I was 8 years old, a magician was pulling quarters out of my ears on a small stage. I was a skinny towhead, dressed in a little sports coat with a red bow tie. However, beyond that cuteness, I remember looking out on the small audience in this IHOP meeting room and realizing that I loved being up there. 

Liking being in front of an audience and being successful at it are two very different things. It was a long time before I was successful at it.

Who am I now? I'm Dr. Kevin Polk. I'm a psychologist by training, but I started off at age 16 selling garbage-can lid guards with my Junior Achievement company. While working myself through school I sold vacuum cleaners and life insurance too. By degrees include a Master's in social psychology and a Ph.D. in clinical psychology. And I've always had a keen interest in the study of influence and marketing.

I've stood in front of hundreds and hundreds of audiences trying to influence them toward being the best of themselves. Folks have told me that I'm pretty good at it now.
