Marcin

My name is Marcin. Iā€™m 40 years old. I was addicted to various substances for over 20 years. Since six months I am clean. I went to rehab. Datus charity provided me with rehabilitation program. There I heard about the ACT Matrix program. I attended the course to learn more about the program. Now, I passed my exam and I was given a accreditation. At the moment, I learn how to run a support group myself. I am very grateful for this opportunity. I want to help others who are in the same situation as I used to be.

Daniel Farmer

A self-employed IT consultant by trade, which he has been doing over 25 years, He started studying Acceptance and Commitment Therapy at Cardiff University in the UK back in 2018.

There he learnt from Ingrid Wallace who was one of Russ Harris' first students. Russ Harris was one of the first people to popularise ACT worldwide.

He went on to complete two further advanced ACT courses at the same institution, before working with Kevin and Phil to learn the ACT Matrix.

His initial reason for learning ACT was to help manage his own maladaptive anxiety, which he is pleased to say has been incredibly effective.

After this he developed an ACT based protocol for effectively managing maladaptive anxiety to help people get out of their heads and back into their lives ā€“ it is his lived experience of managing maladaptive anxiety using ACT and the matrix.

He regards himself as a recovering anxious person and this subject matter is a passion for him. To that end Daniel has started putting on free courses locally to share his insights with others in the community.

He is available to work with individuals or organisations to reduce maladaptive anxiety. In his experience this can reduce procrastination and conflict amongst individuals and groups and increase productivity as a result

Sue Kapla, PhD, Certified Applied Animal Behaviorist

Since starting on this path in 1989, and despite the other labels I’ve picked up along the way, I principally consider myself a trainer. To me, training is communication, and communication builds healthy relationships.  When I enter into a relationship with a dog, I know we will influence each other’s behavior and I know we will have a shared purpose. Identifying and exploring how to best help my clients and their dogs move toward their purpose is my job. And since there are two ends of the leash, I work closely with both dogs and their people using the principles of behavior to help them notice and move toward successful living together.  It is a privilege every time I am invited into that sacred space.

Formal education was a useful stop along the way, and I earned a B.S. and M.S. at Northern Michigan University and my Ph.D. from West Virginia University in 2005 where my research focused on problem behavior in companion dogs.  I taught for 13 years as an assistant professor in the Psychology Department at Northern Michigan University and have been a Board-Certified Applied Animal Behaviorist with the Animal Behavior Society since 2005. I am now fully dedicated to working with dogs and their owners year-round at my Behavior & Training Center in Rumely, Michigan, in the heart of the central Upper Peninsula.

Kate has over 25 years of experience working with thousands of people from children to seniors in health care, mental health, addictions, education, and work places. She offers warm, empathic support while facilitating the opportunity for you to gain a new perspective on your stories, so you can keep moving toward where you want to go, even in the presence of obstacles. Obstacles like getting stuck in a feedback loop of yucky stuff like difficult, nagging thoughts, uncomfortable, painful feelings, memories, or even bodily sensations like aches and pains - are so unwanted. These obstacles are often coupled with common life challenges like existing with chronic health issues; anxiety; depression; loss and grief; fractured relationships; social media management or substance abuse,  Understandably this can lead to trying to escape, avoid, distract, deny or use other controlling behaviours to relieve the pain and hurt. Discover and learn actions for ‘unhooking” from the yucky stuff and unhelpful behaviours and move towards who and what is important to you by increasing your psychological flexibility. Kate offers on-line, phone, and in-person services from her office in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

Mark has spent 20+ years working with clients looking to move towards a healthier life. He has a degree in Exercise Science and holds certifications in fitness, nutrition coaching, and facilitating psychological flexibility using the ACT matrix.

Given what you decide is important to you, he’ll help you notice what actions feel worth doing, even when all kinds of stuff shows up to get in the way.
When you do contact him, he’ll likely shower you with praise, because he knows asking for help can be scary and takes a lot of courage.
By taking that step, you’ve already demonstrated the important skill of noticing something felt worth doing, even though it was difficult and uncomfortable.
Mark accepts both in person and virtual clients.  If you’re interested in experiencing his unique approach for yourself, click below to contact him.
