This course is designed for psychologists and practitioners with an innovative approach for conducting therapeutic intake sessions using the principles of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). The ACT Matrix will be demonstrated as an experiential tool that increases therapeutic effectiveness and motivation for change.

Studies have shown that Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Training (ACT) effectively address difficulties with individuals and groups seeking behavioral change. Dr. Polk and Mr. Tenaglia will demonstrate how to conduct an effective intake with the Matrix while adding psychological flexibility, ACT's cornerstone process for change and growth.

Learning Objectives:

- Demonstrate how to use the intake process for acceptance and present moment awareness with clients.

- Participants will be able to conduct an ACT Matrix intake consistent with promoting psychological flexibility from the first interview.  

How to do an MSE with the ACT Matrix (1 CE)

This course is designed for psychologists and practitioners who want to take an innovative approach to conducting mental status examinations with clients using the principles of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). The ACT Matrix will be demonstrated as an experiential tool that increases therapeutic effectiveness and motivation for change.

Learning Objectives:

- Demonstrate how to use the Mental Status Examination for acceptance and present moment awareness with clients.

- Participants will be able to conduct an ACT Matrix Mental Status Exam consistent with promoting psychological flexibility from the first interview.  

How to do a Treatment Plan with the ACT Matrix (1 CE)

This course is designed for Psychologists and practitioners for developing effective treatment plans with clients using the principals of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). The ACT Matrix will be demonstrated as an experiential tool that increases therapeutic effectiveness and treatment planning.

Learning Objectives:

- Demonstrate how to develop a treatment plan consistent with the acceptance and change processes of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

- Participants will be able to initiate an effective treatment plan with clients that promotes psychological flexibility and behaviors toward who and what is important to them while addressing barriers to effective learning.

How to do ACT Progress Notes (1 CE)

This course demonstrates for psychologists and practitioners how to develop an effective process treatment plans with clients using the principles of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). The ACT Matrix will be demonstrated as an experiential tool that increases therapeutic effectiveness and treatment planning.

Learning Objectives:

- Demonstrate how to develop and create progress notes consistent with the acceptance and change processes of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

- Participants will be able to identify how to track progress with clients while promoting psychological flexibility and behaviors toward who and what is important to them while addressing barriers to effective learning.

How to do ACT Supervision (1CE)

This course is designed to provide psychologists and practitioners with an effective process for supervising trainees using the principles of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). The ACT Matrix will be demonstrated as an experiential tool for developing shared purposes for mutually agreed-upon supervision goals.

Learning Objectives:

- Demonstrate how to establish the supervision processes with the acceptance and change processes of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

- Participants will learn how to conduct supervision that promotes psychological flexibility and clinical effectiveness for supervisees.

 

How to do ACT Case Conceptualization (1CE)

This course is designed to provide psychologists and practitioners with an effective process for case conceptualization using the principles of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). The ACT Matrix will be demonstrated as an experiential tool for developing psychological flexibility and promoting clients' acceptance and change process.

Learning Objectives:

- Demonstrate how to apply the principles of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to conceptualize and analyze clinical cases presented by clients.

- Participants will learn how to employ psychological flexibility in case conceptualization and engage clients in the acceptance and change process for increased valued living.
